Baby Dedication

INSPIRATIONAL BAPTIST CHURCH – CITY OF DESTINY
BABY DEDICATION GUIDELINES

In keeping with the spirit of excellence in ministry, the following guidelines should ensure a smooth Dedication Ceremony. Please feel free to contact the church office if you have any questions.

  1. The child dedicated must not exceed twelve (12) months old.
    • No child of any parent/guardians that live together outside of the holy bond of
      marriages shall be dedicated.
    • The parent/guardian that request the dedication must profess Christ as Lord and
      Savior and be born again.
  2. The parent/guardians(s) must call the church office at least one-month in advance to
    schedule a baby dedication. Baby Dedications are held on the fourth Sunday of each
    month.
  3. The Membership Coordinator will arrange a brief phone meeting with the
    Parent/guardian(s) prior to the Dedication service.

    • A copy of the Baby Dedication Service Guidelines and Forms will be mailed to the parent/guardian(s). Upon receipt of the Guidelines, call the Membership Office to confirm receiving these items.
    • All Participants (the baby being dedicated and parent/legal guardians) names must be place on the form that will be provided to the parent/guardian. The completed form(s) must be received by the Membership Coordinator as specified in the letter.

PLEASE NOTE: If the parents of the child being dedicated are unmarried, only the custodial parent will be acknowledged. The other parent may be present, but will not be recognized publicly.

  1. Any additions or changes should be reported to the Membership Coordinator
    immediately. Changes one week prior to the Service cannot be guaranteed.
  2. When prompted, the baby to be dedicated and his/her parent(s) legal guardian(s) and
    family should be prepared to come forward.
  3. Your Photo will be mailed to you.
